Kath is in and enjoying it, but Marley is not sure!

Bay of Islands house sitting.

With Marley a 1 year old Schnauzer to look after for a couple of weeks we moved into a beautiful river side home, including an infinity pool, looking down the river and out to the Bay of Islands.

Full moon reflecting over the 'Bay' on the river and the pool.

The tide is out on the Kerikeri River, but at high tide we enjoyed watching the passage of launches and yachts  navigating the river carefully.

Bay of Islands Classic Car Club

Every few weeks the BOI Car Club has a rally to a unique destination in Northland. This gives members a chance to travel together, enjoy various collectable cars and have a meal at the destination cafe.

A 1924 Vauxall, in perfect condition and still capable of sustaining 100 km/hour.

A couple of Austin Healey  3000's at the luncheon parking lot.

Marley, the Schnauzer that we were looking after came along with us on the rally and had a friendly meeting with the rather large dogs that were part of the Cafe stop. All went well in the encounter!

Second Annual 'Sleep over'

It has become a tradition now to have a 'sleep over' on Larry and Ann's property in late summer. Four couples get together for sports, BBQ's, skill testing driving, and of course story telling. Each couple has their own accommodation, in the bach, motor home or caravan. We all meet for breakfast the following morning with a promise to 'sleep over' again next year.

Larry and his MG Midget setting up.
Our caravan for the night but soon to be ours for future travels.
 Kath and skill testing driving.
A skill testing course, with 180 degree turns and loading and spreading top soil.
Brian completing the course.
Dinner celebrations in the 'Bach'.

A new project

A project that Kath took on between knitting various items was making this sewing 'tool box' for Vita. It unfolds revealing pockets for tape measures, pins, scissors and other various sewing items. When not in use it folds up to a compact box holding everything securely.
