The Temple

The Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The Temple Square encompasses 35 acres housing as many as fifteen buildings including the Family History Building where anyone can go to trace their family tree.

Conference Center

The Conference Center is the newest building on Temple Square, opened 2001. The auditorium seats 21,000 people, there are three levels of seating and no pillars supporting the ceiling. The balconies are canter levered. The building has a 'Green Roof' with fountains and ponds.

I-15

Bill was not impressed to see the 'White Fluffy Stuff' coming down but the road stayed clear.

From Nevada we have climbed through about six passes, this one is over 6,000 feet.

Interstate North, Utah

When we left the Valley of Fire in Nevada we traveled along Interstate 15 through the north west corner of Arizona again for about 27 miles, traveling through this spectacular canyon, then into Utah.

Valley of Fire State Park

Friends Derek and Lene once again told us about the Valley of Fire State Park in the north east corner of Nevada not far from the northern end of Lake Mead.

The bright red sand stone rocks would just glow on a sunny day but we were expecting bad weather.

The camp sites were scattered around amongst the rocks but during the night we were hit by a huge gust of wind that blew sand and leaves in around the slide out. Consequently we spent the rest of the night with it rolled in.

Mouses Tank

We visited the Visitors Center and took a short hike into a canyon to see Mouses Tank. Mouse was a renegade Indian who preyed on Indians as well as the settlers. He hid out in these rocks and survived with the water that collected in this hollow during heavy rains.
