On the move again after over three weeks on one place, we traveled north on Hwy 98 up into the pan handle of Florida, through Dade City, Brooksville, Crystal River, Chiefland and Oldtown. It was a lovely sunny day until we drove under the cold front moving south, with light misty rain, temp dropped from 23c to 7c that evening. We stopped for the night at a very rustic RV Camp ground called Suwanne River Hideaway at Oldtown.
Just before dark we went for a walk to get rid of the ' traveling kinks' along the half mile boardwalk out the the Suwannee River. We heard an Air Boat go by but did not see any other traffic on the river while we were there.
Along the boardwalk there were about four or five trees that had been drilled through, a metal sleeve inserted into the hole and then the wire for the hand rails of the boardwalk threaded through. Over time the tree has grown out over the metal sleeve and sealed the wound.
