Hubbard, south of Halifax

Tropical storm 'Hanna' hit around 11:00 AM Sunday morning with heavy rain and wind, but New Brunswick received the brunt of it with heavy rains and flooding. It was a good day to spend some time on the Internet. I decided to down load a Microsoft update....not a good idea as now the 'wireless' is not compatible with the new version of 'XP'.

The news of the day was Stephen Harper dissolving parliament and calling an election for 14th Oct. A guess we will have a chance to figure out how to vote by mail!

By Monday morning the storm had passed through and we had a beautiful day. The laptop was dropped into the 'techies' for an update and Kath tried to get a clasp replaced on her watch.

While in Halifax we visited Pier 21, a World Heritage Site, where over 1.5 millions immigrants, war brides and displaced persons entered Canada between 1928-71. It is a powerful presentation of a page of our history and very meaningful, with it's pictures and displays for all those who arrived here to start life in Canada.
