When we first saw these flowers they looked like spring snow drops but on the return drive they were past their full bloom. They are Scheuchzer's Cottongrass and like Dandelions they develop long white hairs that help the seeds disperse in the wind. In past, cottongrass has been used for everything form stuffing pillows to dressing wounds.
