South on the Dempster

Coming down to the Peel River, you can see the high cliffs that are scoured with the ice and spring run off each year.
Below the Canadian Coast Guard Ship uses the same sort of ramp on the bank to unload crew to the road.

About to board the Peel River Ferry.
Midway Lake with the Richardson Mountains in the back ground. Situated on the Peel Plateau, this Lake is the site of the annual Midway Lake Music Festival held the first weekend of August.  No one lives here but there is a huge rounded shed that would have a cover over it for the festival and wooden stands. Out in the surrounding trees there are hundreds of shacks, bases for tents, long drop toilets, looks like it would be fun to attend.  The nearest village is Fort McPherson 42 kms away and Inuvik is 230 kms away.
