The steps leading down to the Kenai River at the Visitor Centre where we found the river banks lined with keen fishermen and women.
At times there was hardly room to swing their rods and fling the lure out into the river and as soon as one person moved out of the water another stepped into his/her place.
The river is still running very high even this late in the season as there was such a huge snow fall here last winter and the run off is still flooding the rivers.
This guy was releasing his salmon as he had foul hooked it, In the river you are only allowed to keep the salmon if it is caught in the mouth.
