Ground Zero. 9/11 We all watched what happened in New York City seven years ago on TV as it happened. But the sixteen acres that was the World Trade Center is immense, so many of the surrounding buildings were damaged and the dark building in the top photo on the right is still being taken down floor by floor. The only building without damage in the surrounding area was the very old church in the middle of the picture, and it was used as the fire fighters rescue center. The first two photos were taken from the Atrium, across the street and unfortunately it was raining.
